Intrepid has met ethy’s Cruelty Free Experiences standard thanks to its dedication to animal welfare. In 2014, the company banned elephant rides on all trips and does not permit any activities that allow passengers to pet or walk with wild animals, such as lion walks.
Intrepid worked with ethy during 2022-2023 and provided insights into ethy's Cruelty Free Experiences standard and criteria development.
ethy's Cruelty Free Experiences standard means that the brand has policies in place to ensure that activities involving wildlife are not exploitative, do not involve hunting or trading, and are respectful of animal welfare and the environment. Animal welfare policies must consider the Five Domains and the brand must also monitor and evaluate the impact of its activities.
Intrepid's Animal Welfare Policy toolkit covers these Five Domains and encourages brands to implement industry-leading business practices.
