Heritage inspired, ethical clothing

Lowie is a sustainable womenswear brand striving to preserve traditional handicraft techniques and heritage elements, while placing environmental impact at the heart of everything it does. Founded by designer Bronwyn Lowenthal in 2002, Lowie has played a pioneering role in the ethical fashion movement and grown from a small knitwear accessories brand to a prominent womenswear label.

From knitwear and dresses to dungarees and trousers, Lowie release new collections of thoughtfully made apparel throughout the year.

Here's how Lowie minimise environmental impact: 90% of production is made using sustainable raw materials such as organic cotton, denim, linen and Lyocell. They minimise plastic by using compostable mailing bags, phasing out plastic button bags and using paper packing tape. Also 50% of their collection uses low impact production techniques, such as hand loomed fabrics and knitted or embroidered materials. To ensure the longevity of their clothing and reduce waste, Lowie also offer free repairs for life and have seen a 100% increase in uptake for their repair service in the last year!

Lowie also uses their businesses as a force to drive positive social change. They are an accredited living wage employer with the Living Wage Foundation, meaning they've committed to paying a fair wage that meets the everyday needs of their staff and contractors.
