'No sweatshop, no photoshop' Birdsong are an up-and-coming fashion label from London, who are based on ethical and feminist principles. Birdsong revolutionise the way we shop, by sourcing all of their products from a range of women’s organisations. They create clothing for women who dress in protest – against fast-fashion and the unethical treatment of women in the supply chain. 👩👩🏿
To manufacture their clothing, Birdsong collaborate with expert makers who face barriers to employment in the UK – from artists and printmakers to seamstresses and painters. They also ensure all workers are paid the London Living Wage, consistent with their fairtrade ethos.
Birdsong are also a more affordable option when it comes to sustainable fashion. Prices at Birdsong range from £30 to £150.

Support social enterprises from home
Social enterprises are businesses that use profit earned to help tackle social problems, improve communities, provide people access to employment and training, or help the environment. When you buy from a social enterprise you can be sure that your money is going towards a positive social or environmental cause. 💵💚
7 affordable sustainable fashion brands
Sustainable fashion is well known for its expensive price tags... By using eco-friendly fabrics and paying their workforce a living wage, these brands invest more money into an ethical supply chain and must therefore sell at a higher price point. Quite often the higher cost is the reason why many of us are put off buying clothes from sustainable fashion brands. Yet, in order for the sustainable fashion movement to continue growing, it should be inclusive of all budgets.
